One of the easiest ways to grow Business Revenue from your existing company, might actually be to start another!
Ever wonder why general contracting companies tend to have a large excavation arm? It’s because these two things go together like peas and carrots – the equipment needed lends itself to building houses, but it also allows them to compete for large site-clearing projects.
Maybe a general contractor wouldn’t need that equipment to run the company’s current operations, but having it on hand does a couple of things.
It opens up a potential new revenue stream in dirt work, and allows them leeway they may not otherwise have. Rentals can be expensive, and tricky, and they tend to be bound to the biggest business owner in town if there’s a supply issue.
If general contracting and dirt works are peas and carrots, then pool companies and excavation companies are apple pie and ice cream.
Most of us aren’t in new home construction or pools, but many of us do have the resources available from one business to springboard another with minimal costs.
For instance, this media company affords me hosting capabilities and various software that I need to do my jobs.
I already have a gardening hobby.
I am already thinking about the garden while I’m out there weeding.
The only barrier to me starting a blog on gardening is a $15.00 a year URL and writing down thoughts I’m already prone to while in the garden.
So for $15.00 a year and an additional hour a week of my time, I could be running a small blog with the potential of bringing in advertising revenue. (PS Check out www.SproutedSeedsofTurnipGreens.com to see my working draft!)
So, maybe for you, it’s not heavy earth moving, or a little tilling either, but I bet there’s something else you can do for a lot less than you think!
You just have to figure out what it is, and do it.
