Sometimes you don’t need a marketing professional, necessarily – you might just need a pair of fresh eyes.

We tend to get so caught up in what we’re doing, and focus on little pieces here and there, that sometimes we lose sight of the big picture.

All you may need is a pair of fresh eyes.

This isn’t your resume, either. It doesn’t have to be an expert, or anyone particularly trustworthy.

In fact, sometimes the most ornery of your circle should be called upon for this exercise.

Ask them to take a look at your website for you, and see what their first impressions are.

If they don’t know much about your company, even better. Ask them what they think your company does. Would they buy your product if they didn’t know you? What did they really like and what turned them off?

Remember, no matter what they say, this isn’t personal – it’s business. You don’t have to take everything they say and run with it, but you should consider it. If what they mentioned really feels like it wouldn’t work with your brand, get a second or third opinion.

Generally, people love to share their opinions, and most people want to help – especially if it’s as easy as giving their thoughts on something like a website.

Don’t be shy about asking for a little assistance! It may just come with a big reward!
